Telford International Centre, (TIC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Rosalind Godfrey to Sales Director. Rosalind first joined TIC in 2013 as a Sales Manager and proved very adept at winning and securing many new events for the venue.

Commenting on the promotion, Tom Gray, CEO, of Southwater Event Group, the Owner and Operator of Telford International Centre, explained, “I am delighted Rosalind will be joining our Board of Directors as Sales Director. Her continued commitment to client service, business growth and her vision for the future leaves me in no doubt she will be successful in her new role.”

Read on as Rosalind explains more on her career journey and what she is most looking forward to in her new role as Sales Director.

 How long have you worked at TIC and what was your first job title?

I joined TIC in February 2013 and joined the sales team as a Sales Manager. When I came for my interview, I was immediately impressed by the scale of the venue and how smart and well maintained it was, and I knew it would be a great product to sell.  Ahead of 2019, when I took on the role of Senior Sales Manager to start to take over leadership of the sales team, I also worked for a production company which certainly helped my industry knowledge, and then I progressed to Head of Sales in 2021.

How has Telford developed since you started at TIC and what role do you think the venue has played in this?

Telford had no nighttime economy and few hotels when I started. Since then, the Southwater Campus has been built on the doorstep with a great selection of bars, restaurants and hotels. This development in the area has impacted the town and local area in a positive way. Without doubt the venue plays a huge part in the success of this development as it brings in the business tourism midweek to keep the campus busy.

What are you most looking forward to about your new role and is there anything specific which you would like to achieve?

We are a privately owned venue with a shrewd and ambitious business owner, and I am looking forward to being part of the Board that is going to continue the growth of this venue and destination and further solidify our position as a business class national events venue.
