The Southwater Event Group, (SEG) today announces the rebrand of Holiday Inn Telford-Ironbridge to a voco by IHG. With the signed conversion agreed in March 2025 between business partners SEG and IHG (Intercontinental Hotel Group), works have been ongoing since, with a significant and planned investment of £5.5million for upgrades. voco Telford-Ironbridge is expected to launch in April 2026.

For over thirty years Gerald Salt has been an integral part of the Southwater Event Group. Since joining the business Gerald has worked in a variety of roles starting as a Maintenance Technician, before working his way up to become Group Director and Managing Director of stagecraftUK.

Since 2023 the Southwater Event Group has been supporting the work of Hope House as our nominated charity.
Hope House helps to care for babies, children and young people with life-threatening conditions. They also offer counselling and bereavement counselling to all families who access their hospice services across Shropshire, Cheshire and Wales.

In March we welcomed Wound Care Today to Telford for the first time.
The inaugural Wound Care Today (WCT) conference launched in 2018 to establish an event for all healthcare professionals (HCPs), who work with wounds in UK healthcare, for them to access evidence-based education and improve their practice.
With ever increasing popularity, WCT needed room to grow and so made the 2025 move to Telford International Centre.

We recently welcomed back the Furniture Component Expo (FCE) to Telford for a second time.
Hosted by the British Furniture Association (BFA), and taking place across two days, the Expo launched in 2024 in direct response to a BFA members collective desire for an event to promote innovation and growth.

Telford International Centre, (TIC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Rosalind Godfrey to Sales Director. Rosalind first joined TIC in 2013 as a Sales Manager and proved very adept at winning and securing many new events for the venue.

At the end of February we welcomed VEX Robotics UK National Championships back to Telford for the seventh time. Taking place over four days, the Championships saw teams of students from schools and organisations across the UK competing in robotics challenges.

Telford International Centre recently hosted The Beekeeping Show for the third year in a row, a premier UK beekeeping trade show attracting visitors from across the world.
